Bio
Ryan Dunlavey is mostly known for illustrating multiple non-fiction comic books including Action Philosophers, Action Presidents, The Comic Book History of Animation, The Comic Book History of Comics and Action Activists - all co-authored with writer Fred Van Lente- and Dirt Candy: A Cookbook with chef Amanda Cohen and author Grady Hendrix. Ryan's other comics include The Illustrated Weird Al from Z2 Comics and the writer and artist of M.O.D.O.K. Reign Delay for Marvel Comics which inspired the M.O.D.O.K. animated series on Hulu.
Ryan is a seasoned illustrator, designer, writer and animator and has been published by HarperCollins, Penguin, Scholastic, Taschen, Random House and MAD magazine. He has drawn comics for Dark Horse, Dynamite, IDW, Image, Marvel, Oni, Webtoon and Z2. His freelance clients include Disney, Warner Brothers, The Children's Place, Hasbro, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, The WWE, Spencer Gifts and his mom.
Ryan lives and works in New York City with his partner Liza Pagano and their children. He enjoys traveling, cooking, cycling, snacking, camping and watching lots of cartoons - luckily for him, his family likes all those things too.
