In 2013 I was commissioned to write and draw a short non-fiction comic about the behind-the-scenes story of Hasbro's G.I. Joe toys and its associated media properties. As far as I know, this is the ONLY published history of the brand that has been officially approved by Hasbro itself, and I also only had 5 pages to do it, which was quite a challenge!
These comics actually ran as ALTERNATE COVERS of the G.I. Joe comic book series, which at the time was written by Fred Van Lente (although the comics you see here were actually written by me, not Fred. And I drew these covers too, obviously, but the stories INSIDE the comic were drawn by Steve Kurth, not me. Got it? Yeah, me neither.) The whole thing was reprinted in the G.I. Joe: Homefront collection from IDW Publishing in 2013.
